Trevor’s World

Standing

Though not entirely mobile, Trevor has been very active. He can now stand by holding on to steady or even mobile objects. He is starting to make speech like noises, though we are not sure how close those are to words. He will calm down when given solid food but sometimes he still insist on me feeding him.

Chris and Trev are having a great time together. They have been going for walks and movies and never miss their JollyJumper time. I miss them while I am away, but I have started having quick lunch at work so the workday is that much shorter. When I come home I feed and play with Trevor while Chris takes a much-needed break. Today I found out that Trev really likes being held in the air and doing bicycle with his knees on my knees.

We signed him up for daycare close to my work, but they only take kids at 16 months. We have to figure out what to do in the mean time.

Potty trained already?!?

I have found that the best way to wash Trevor is to soap him up completely and then put him in the tub. So yesterday I was soaping him up on the bathroom counter when he turned to the side and peed directly into the sink. I didn’t have to clean anything up either, it was great!

I don’t have a picture of that, but here is a picture of a great quilt my neighbour made for Trevor. I love my neighbourhood!

The family party

Noir
I arrived at the meeting point at the agreed time. I was two hours into Quebec. The sun was hot and I dressed accordingly. My party was late, but I took a walk. Never was the type to wait around. As I floated about the main and only street of this town, I thought about the case…

The switch aftermath

Chris and I are both dealing with the switch. Chris is getting used to taking care of Trev for the whole day while I am getting used to missing him.

Trevor has in the mean while learned to sit, pull himself up from the laying position if you give him your fingers, recognise the words JollyJumper and many other things.

The switch week

Edit: at the end of the YouTube show, there are options to see other videos. Some are ours, others are of other baby Trevors. For example, the one called “Trevor says mama” is not ours. When he gets around to saying mama, we will probably put such video up.

This is the first week of Chris staying at home. It is just in time because Trev is starting to be a happy rambunctious little guy and he needs his dad to horse around with. Chris & Trev have been trying out the Jolly Jumper with fun results.

I have been trying to introduce solid foods and it is taking a while. He has eaten a couple of spoonfuls of cereal the other day.

The biggest challenge for us right now is his sleeping. He is getting into the stage where he does not want to take naps during the day and is even reluctant to go to his bed in the evenings. He seems to be ok with just 10 hours of sleep, which seems little for a baby, but he is alert and happy while awake, so I guess that’s how it is.

His most surprising ability is the knowledge of my impending arrival. If he is with Chris and crying, he will calm down as my car is pulling into the driveway. How he knows that mommy will be home soon is beyond us.
