Trevor started to crawl today. It is still a bit unpolished. He moves forward by stretching his arms and bouncing his butt.
Today we went on a beautiful hike with Trev in the backpack. He slept for a bit and then looked around and played with the back of Chris’ hat.

Trevor mimics our moods, he will laugh if we laugh and complain if we’re serious. He loves balancing on the “octopus arc” and can stand for a long time. He is trying out different moves and has almost figured out how to sit up. I think that he has figured out the mirrors because he tends to look at my reflection and then look up/back to see me. He is also not interested in the whole ??out of sight out of mind? concept. I tried to hide a clip behind a toy car mirror and he turned it around to find it. He seems to have gotten a knack for being read to, because whenever I start reading he snuggles up to me. He still tries to grab the book, but he seems to expect me to read to him anyway.
I need to really start thinking when taking care of him because he is getting very clever. It has come to a point where only Chris can feed him solids and put him to bed because Trev seems to know that I will give him milk if he doesn??t eat his cereal or that I will pick him up if he whines.

Trevor has become quite strong and determined. He can now sit and play with his toys for longer periods of time though he prefers to play with us. Usually we just horse around, we help him stand or jump or even play airplane if he gets us in a good enough mood.
Though every once in a while we convince him to take daytime naps (more often when he is alone with Chris), he is not a day sleeper. He is pretty good at night (most of the times) and he has even started taking beauty naps with us in the mornings.
He has developed quite a shrill voice and sometimes we need to check whether he is screaming with joy or frustration. I am beginning to regret not taking the whole baby signing language more seriously, but not seriously enough to start now. We got a book from the library so, hopefully, weâ??ll get a chance to look into it.
The baby website says to start playing peekaboo, but I canâ??t actually hide anything from him. He knows where everything is and follows me when I try and hide things. He is getting frustrated with his toys and so am I. None of these are anything that he is interested in. Why donâ??t these companies make stuff kids will actually want to play with? Like lamps, telephone chords, eye glasses, dinner plates, cutlery, bookmarks, computer mice, etcâ?¦ Being a baby is so hard, with parents who donâ??t understand you, lack of balance and fine motor skills that limit your movement and ability to manipulate objects, lack of experience causing you to attempt to grab 2-D objects, last thing you need is your parents forcing you to play with a stuffed horn you donâ??t have enough skill or force to operate.
Trevor can now recognise the words “mommy” and “daddy”. He also learned not to take my glasses off by me saying “No Trevor, these are mommy’s glasses” and taking them away from him. He is now falling asleep without much fanfare and has started sleeping in in the mornings.
I gave him some home made food, but he didn’t care for it, he prefers his sweet potato and carrot bottles. I’ll try again with other food.
His nona is here for the weekend so he is getting some grandmotherly spoilage.
