Still sick

Trevor’s on a roll with various colds and whatnots. He had fever yesterday and slept most of the day. He is a little bit better today, but we stayed indoors to make sure he recovers.

He is still growing and developing great. He is learning new things in leaps and bounds. Today’s new thing is pointing and waving. Climbing is a second nature to him and his vocabulary, though mostly incomprehensible to us, is growing daily.

I have some pictures but he is looking rather rugged and sick in them so I will wait for him to get better before posting more.

A word to the wise

Do not teach your little boy that that noses make sounds when pressed unless you are ready to have your nose squished with much merriment on regular basis.

On being a big boy

Trev is no longer a baby, he is a real little boy. Ever since he has been put in charge of turning the lights on and off, there has been no going back. He has even learned to give himself the asthma medicine. We still have to press the botton, but not for the lack of trying on his part. Apart from having specialised in safety inspections – he can find a dangerous object in any room, he has shown great interest in first aid. The other day he found a package of bandaids and proceeded to spend the whole weekend taking them out and putting them back in the box.

Having gotten a little bit scared about his lack of weight increase (no worries, I checked with his doctor and she says he looks great and his weight is right on track), he managed to asuage us by growing his cheeks and double chin a bit.

Trevor has quite a way with words, though we are still not sure if he is talking or just defying probablity. On the weekend he said “ba-ba” when talking to his aunt Barbara and “pa-par” while giving us a piece of paper. He can say “ball” and “light” and has been giving us different variations on “mama” and “dada” for a while. He is also bilingual for when I make him do something he is not terribly keen on he says “no” and “ne” in both languages.
