When we were thinking up names for Trev, I wanted to give him a Croatian name, but it was just not practical to give a Canadian kid a name no-one can pronounce. I liked the name Trevor because it was very similar to the name Davor, which is the Croatian name I wanted. <\/p>\n
For the new kid, I didn’t have any clue until Chris suggested Owen. It is a bit uncommon, which is partially why we like it. On further thought, it sounds like Croatian name Ognjen which, now that I think about it is kind of nice. <\/p>\n
Not that my made up equivalents make any difference whatsoever, but it is kind of nice to think that my children’s secret names are Davor and Ognjen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
