Film – Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince

There are 11 weeks left until the baby is due. I am so nervous! We have been thinking about names and so far Owen seems to be the best liked.

When we were thinking up names for Trev, I wanted to give him a Croatian name, but it was just not practical to give a Canadian kid a name no-one can pronounce. I liked the name Trevor because it was very similar to the name Davor, which is the Croatian name I wanted.

For the new kid, I didn’t have any clue until Chris suggested Owen. It is a bit uncommon, which is partially why we like it. On further thought, it sounds like Croatian name Ognjen which, now that I think about it is kind of nice.

Not that my made up equivalents make any difference whatsoever, but it is kind of nice to think that my children’s secret names are Davor and Ognjen.

Fall and Spinning

I haven’t been to movies lately, there weren’t too many movies of interest on lately. I did go to the Magic Flute at the NAC a few weeks ago and it was fun. I think I finally get the story and I’d say it is about time because this is the third production I’ve seen. The production was very good, but there was this beeping noise going on throughout the performance which made it very distracting. I think I’ve had enough of Magic Flute for another decade now.

Other than that I’ve been taking spinning classes since it is getting darker and colder out so I haven’t been biking much. I’ve been trying to get some things arraigned around the house but haven’t gotten too much done which is little surprise.

Summer and cycling

We are having a nice summer though it is not as busy as summers usually are. That is fine by me because I tire really quickly lately. We managed to get a good bike ride in this morning so I am happy about that.

I have been biking more because walking tires me out. Trev and I usually go to the park or the library by bike. I have not been biking to work since we got back from the vacation because I do not feel up for biking on the hills which makes me a bit sad.

We are trying to come up with a name for the new baby and we’re completely blank.

Film – (500) Days of Summer

I was on my own this week. I missed my two boys terribly. I’ve get the third one to keep me company though. Trev is back today too and he is super cuddly (well, more cuddly than he was before which was not cuddly at all).

I think a week on my own did me good though, despite its utter lack of anything going on. It was nice to just be quiet for a week. I did get some chores done, though not as many as I had hoped.

There is a holiday tomorrow and Chris will be return so we’re back to crazy-go-nuts schedule. I think I am ready for it. Not as if I can not be 😉

Film – Twilight

The only way to see Twilight is in the open air cinema. Why? Because of the ticket salesman who almost overcharged us 40$ because he was too busy trying to pick up the mom of the gaggle of preteen girls she dropped off at the movies. Then there was rustling in the tree right next to us during a very intense forest chase scene because another teenage girl decided to skip the ticket booth entierly and climbed over the tree and bushes to get into the theatre. Special effects are almost useless in such uncontrolled environment – vampires look exactly the same in the sunlight as without it. It is too dark to read the instructions on the Cedevita bottle before drinking it (how was I supposed to know that the dry mix is on the top of the bottle that needs to be unscrewed and then shaken before drinking? – blech!). Then there is a break in the middle of the film to change the reel because the cinema only has one projector. The only resemblance to the regular cinema are the swooning teenage girls.

On Vacation

I am just starting to relax. We are still in Zagreb but should leave for the coast in a matter of hours. I got some of the stuff I was supposed to do done, but the rest will have to wait either for the me to return from the coast or for the next time I come here.

However, I am starting to relax and it is good. There is a pretty good chance that by the end of the vacation I might just get back to good old energetic me. Keep your fingers crossed!

We went to see my sister do her final project presentation. It was lots of fun, even though the topic was melanoma. As this was her last deliverable, she is now done with school and is actually a medical doctor. Congrats Barbara!
