In the world of sport today…

The canal finally froze over and I’ve got my wish. It is just as well since I don’t think I will have a chance to go many more times this year. Next week we’re going to Lil’ Thomas’ b-day party and the weekend after that is Belle & Sebastian concert. In the mean time there is school and work and all the other fun things in life.

Nevertheless, it was great to get some sweet sweet ice time. Even though I can go faster on skates when being absolutely still and pulled along by Chris than by the power of my feet I really enjoy being out in the winter and moving. Yay!

A quote!

Like the tale of the sitar player asking Buddha how best to tune his instrument, therefore, we find the famous answer: “not too tight, and not too loose” as a good general rule for balancing formal process with informal practice.

Today’s excercise: Irritation

Metamorphisis

Stephen Notley of Bob the Angry Flower fame is my favourite cartoonist when it comes to expressing emotions, particularly negative ones. The above strip exactly expresses how I felt today. Admittedly, I did not wake up with a bug body, nor did anything annoying or bad happen today, but I just felt like exuding irritation. For example, in my yoga class, during the final relaxation I was really ticked about the people on the upper floor constantly moving furniture around and disturbing my thoughts. It later turned out that the ‘noise’ was part of the background music and was simulating the beat of the heart.

Agitate, agitate, agitate.
